Babylon's sacrificial Lamb ritual vs.
"The most important Assyro-Babylonian ritual was the new Year festival called The AKITU festival celebrated annually at Babylon in the spring, during the first 11 days of the month known in Babylon as Nissan.""On the fifth day MARDUK'S temple Esagila was purified. A sacrificial Lamb was decapitated, its bleeding body rubbed around the temple to take upon itself all uncleanness, and finally the head and the body cast into the river which carried away all the uncleanness of the people." The Assyrian Empire that conquered the northern kingdom of Israel in 722 B.C. The Akitu ritual also occured on the month of Nissan. "An animal could be put in place of the human being and an encantation used calling for the anger of the gods or demons to fall on the animal rather than the person." --Why doesn't the esoteric blood sacrifice of Jesus (in the new testament - in Matthew 26:28) not fit in with the carnal blood sacrifices of the Old Testament?--You write that the blood sacrifices were not originally a Jewish practice. Where did they adopt the blood sacrifices from? --Do you also believe that the Babylonian inspired priests had a hand modifying the Torah for their own purposes? --So, in essence, we're talking about two gods—the carnivorous God and the benign God and Father of Christ. --Didn't many of the Jewish Prophets speak against blood sacrifices? --Why are the various blood sacrifice detrimental to the psyche of a civilization? --In the end, isn't blood sacrifices just a way to benefit the priesthood and no one else? --What is the evidence that Jesus did not trust The Law of the Old Testament?
